What is a T1?

1.5 MB Symmetrical

A dedicated point to point, high capacity digital service capable of transmitting data at speeds up to 1.544 Mbps. T1 connections provide stronger, faster, dedicated access for businesses to use the upload capability as much as the download capacity. Think of it as a pipe dedicated to your business that no one else will share. Unlike DSL and Comcast, the service is symmetrical and guaranteed. Businesses that share information across the internet or wide area networks are recommended to use at least a T1. With similar technologies, higher speeds are available.

Wireless

How does Wireless work?

Wi-Fi networks use radio technologies called IEEE 802.11 to provide secure, reliable, fast wireless connectivity. A typical Wi-Fi setup contains one or more Access Points (APs) and one or more clients. An AP broadcasts its SSID (Service Set Identifier, "Network name") via packets that are called beacons, which are usually broadcasted every 100 ms. The beacons are transmitted at 1 Mbit/s, and are of relatively short duration and therefore do not have a significant effect on performance.
